The MacValley Users Group is the largest Macintosh Users Group in Southern California, and has been meeting on a regular basis since 1985. Our monthly meetings showcase guest presenters from the biggest names in the computer industry, while providing a means for members to get answers to their Mac questions and find out about the latest Mac info. Recent meetings have featured presentations from companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Dantz Development, MetaCreations and Casady & Greene. In addition to the monthly presentation, each meeting features our Disks and CD's of the Month, and a raffle bursting with valuable prizes.
Monthly meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at the Wilkinson Senior Center, 8956 Vanalden Avenue, Northridge CA. Vanalden is a 1/2 block south of Nordhoff between Tampa and Reseda by CSUN. Doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is always free. Click here for map.
Membership in MacValley includes other benefits, such as our award-winning newsletter The MacValley Voice. People depend on the Voice every month to bring them the latest in Macintosh reviews, news, tips... and humor. In addition to the Voice, members have access to our full service web site, which also includes our own MacValley message board where members can post and receive answers to problems they may be having... all for no extra charge.
The group is active in the community, with volunteers working in the school system to provide help to students and teachers. Our Education Czar, Bruce Gurnick, coordinates volunteer efforts as well as the transferring of donated computer equipment to schools and classrooms that need them. We even have a scholarship fund through Taft High School.
For all our services and benefits, you might expect a yearly membership to cost $60 or more... but you'd be wrong. Membership in MacValley is only $35 a year! You can apply right here on our web site. If you'd like further information or a Welcome Kit, contact our Membership Chairman,
If you would like to make a presentation to the MacValley User Group, contact the MacValley Webmaster
